Gastrono-me is our  beautiful restaurant in Bury St Edmunds. It began its life on St Johns Street in 2011, where space was scarce, but heart was colossal, and when we could no longer cram in anymore diners, we took a short stroll, and found a new welcome home and settings on the cobbles of 22 Abbeygate Street.

My aim has always been to create fantastic, imaginative food and drink, in a relaxed and beautiful environment. I’ve been inspired by café cultures from all over the world and wanted to play with the rules of formal dining, as I think a more flexible way of eating is the future, what’s better than mixing it up? Flavour has always been my prime goal, whether it’s a divine NY style Reuben, or Bao Buns stuffed with Miso marinated mushrooms, it will only reach my menu if it’s spicing, plating and taste sings out.

We’re quite boozy at Gastrono-me so we feel the very same about our drink offering. We begin our early celebration of mimosas at breakfast, and excellent coffee is of course a must! We have a unique blend made for us especially from a local roastery. We love seeking out craft lagers and ales that customers may not have tried before, and our wine list matches the world journey of our menu. Cocktails are encouraged all day and night long; my personal favourite is the Bahama Mama which even on a dreary October can transport me to sunnier climes in a first sip!

So, whether it’s a first brew with breakfast, a delicious lunch, or a late dinner date with friends, my aim is for Gastrono-me to provide a fun, easy-going and uplifting experience.

We’d love for you for you to come and experience it for yourself someday, make sure to say hi!
